Southern Serengeti
You bypass the crowds entirely, flying directly into a vast, privately managed concession in the Southern Serengeti. Arriving at your lodge—a stunning masterpiece of natural rock, wood, and canvas—you immediately feel the weight of the world lift off your shoulders.
Enjoy an arrival via light aircraft, an introductory “Sensory Awakening” massage, and an evening spent listening to the distant roar of the wild from your private deck. The lodge features natural rock and canvas suites, an infinity pool overlooking a river gorge, and a world-class wellness spa.
Take a morning “Sensory Bush Walk” focusing on tracking and indigenous plant medicine, followed by a breathtaking “Rock Dining” gourmet lunch served on massive river boulders. You are supported by highly trained walking guides, a state-of-the-art gym, and an impressive wine and juice cellar.
Southern Serengeti
Immerse yourself entirely in the restorative power of the lodge. We keep this day free of rigid schedules, allowing you to sleep, eat, and move entirely according to your body’s natural demands.
Mahale Mountains
Our team coordinates a cross-country light aircraft flight to the far western edge of Tanzania. You land on a dirt airstrip where a traditional wooden dhow awaits. As you sail across the vast, blue expanse of Lake Tanganyika toward the forested Mahale Mountains, the modern world ceases to exist.
Experience a private, guided meditation beneath a 3,000-year-old Baobab tree, an afternoon holistic spa ritual, and a plant-based, organic dinner under the stars. You are supported by private 4×4 vehicles, luxurious lounge areas, and bespoke dining setups.
Mahale Mountains
Led by our elite primate tracking partners, you hike deep into the ancient, cathedral-like rainforest of the Mahale Mountains. Sitting quietly just a few feet away from a wild community of chimpanzees is an intensely emotional, deeply grounding experience that defies description.
Take part in a challenging, meditative morning of forest bathing and chimpanzee trekking, returning to camp for a restorative lunch and afternoon rest. The camp provides expert primate trackers, comfortable beachside dining, and an open-air bar.
Lake Tanganyika
The healing properties of water take center stage. Lake Tanganyika is so vast it feels like an ocean, and its clear, calm waters are the perfect medium for washing away residual stress under the African sun.
Enjoy a morning of silent kayaking along the forested shoreline, snorkeling among brightly colored endemic cichlid fish, and an evening dhow cruise. You have access to kayaks, snorkeling gear, and traditional dhow sailing boats.
Lake Tanganyika
Your final day is dedicated to the ultimate luxury of doing absolutely nothing. Embrace the barefoot lifestyle, allowing the rhythm of the gentle waves and the impeccable service to dictate your pace.
Relish in complete relaxation, a private sunset beach dinner featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and stargazing. Relax on a pristine private beach with plush sun loungers and highly personalized, intuitive service.
You board the wooden dhow one last time, feeling physically lighter and mentally sharpened. East Africa Safari Guides ensures a perfectly timed departure sequence.
Take a morning boat transfer to the airstrip, followed by your flight back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to connect with your journey home. We handle all smooth, coordinated flight logistics across the country.
A secluded Serengeti retreat offering privacy, raw wilderness, and intimate safari moments.
A mobile luxury camp placing you at the heart of the Great Migration year-round.

8 Days 7 Nights
Western Tanzania
Relaxed to Moderate
Preparing for your journey with East Africa Safari Guides ensures that your transition into the heartof the wild—and onto the shores of the Indian Ocean—is as smooth as the savannah breeze. Please review the following requirements to ensure a seamless entry into Tanzania and Kenya
Passport & Visa Requirement
Passport Validity:
Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended departure date. Ensure you have at least three (3) blank visa pages to accommodate entry and exit stamps for both the mainland and island territories.
Tanzania & Zanzibar (Including Pemba & Mafia):
All U.S. and Canadian passport holders require a tourist visa for entry. While Tanzania and Zanzibar share federal immigration status, the islands maintain their own entry checkpoints.
Host Information (when prompted):
Host: East Africa Safari Guides Ltd.
Address: 11512, Levolosi, Arusha – Tanzania
Contact: +255 753 744 283 / +255 757 149 848, info@easguides.travel
Kenya Entry (Electronic Travel Authority):
Kenya has replaced traditional visas with an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA). All travelers, including infants and children, must obtain an eTA via etakenya.go.ke prior to departure.
Health & Wellness
Vaccinations & Malaria: East Africa is a malaria-endemic region. We recommend consulting a travel medicine specialist at least 8 weeks prior to travel to discuss prophylaxis (such as Malarone).
Yellow Fever Protocols: A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission (including a transit of more than 12 hours). If you are flying directly from Europe or North America into Tanzania, the vaccine is generally not required but is often recommended. Note: Proof of vaccination is frequently checked when flying between Nairobi and Arusha, or when arriving in Zanzibar from certain regions.
Special Considerations for the Islands (Zanzibar, Pemba & Mafia)
The islands offer a different pace and set of customs than the mainland.
Marine & Conservation Fees
Exploring the pristine waters of our marine parks requires specific daily conservation permits. These fees directly support the preservation of our coral reefs and the livelihoods of local fishing communities.
Mafia Island Marine Park:
Visitors staying within the Marine Park boundaries (the Utende area) or visiting the Whale Shark zones must pay a daily conservation fee.
Pemba (Misali Island & Pemba Channel):
As of late 2025, the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has updated its fee structure for protected marine areas.
Mandatory Zanzibar Inbound Travel Insurance
All international visitors entering the Zanzibar Archipelago (including Unguja, Pemba, and Mafia) must hold a mandatory insurance policy issued by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). This is a government requirement regardless of any existing global travel insurance you may hold.
Traveling with Families & Children
For our guests traveling with younger explorers, East Africa is a magnificent classroom.
Professional Advice for the Discerning Traveler
A Note on “Island Time”: While East Africa Safari Guides maintains rigorous standards of punctuality, the islands of Pemba and Mafia operate on a gentler rhythm. We invite you to embrace this “Pole Pole” (slowly, slowly) philosophy the moment you step off the plane.
