Arusha
Your family’s journey begins in the lush, oxygen-rich gardens of Arusha Coffee Lodge. Before encountering the vastness of the plains, this day serves to hush the noise of the outside world and bring everyone together.
Enjoy an immersive family visit to the Shanga Workshop to observe recycled glassblowing, followed by a private “Neurological Exhale” dinner in the coffee gardens. Rest in plantation-style luxury chalets suitable for families.
Serengeti
A shared Cessna Caravan flight delivers your family directly to the Northern Serengeti. As you step onto the earth, you are enveloped by the ambient sound of the migration. You arrive at a luxury camp tucked into ancient rocky kopjes.
Take a scenic flight to the Northern Serengeti, undergo arrival acclimatization, and embark on a targeted evening game drive to locate the leading edge of the migration. Enjoy sophisticated luxury tents elevated on rocky kopjes and expansive private viewing decks.
Serengeti
Today is dedicated to the “Gathering.” We venture toward the Mara River to locate where the immense herds are massing. Guided by your Wilderness Storyteller, your family will learn to observe the “social glue” of the migration.
Engage in deep exploration toward the Mara River, observing inter-species communication, and a guided “Riverbank Mindfulness” session while waiting for the crossing. You have exclusive use of unshared, custom 4×4 safari vehicles allowing total flexibility.
Serengeti
We explore the deep folds of the Kogatende region, the beating heart of the river crossing action. Your family is here to witness the spectacular, chaotic moment when the first animal takes the leap, and the Living Current bravely follows.
Witness the Great Migration river crossing from a secluded “Secret Bend,” far removed from the standard tourist crowds. You are guaranteed complete privacy and geographic freedom in the Kogatende area.
Serengeti
Moving away from the intensity of the river, we explore the broader Serengeti ecosystem, turning our collective focus to the predators and diverse life that trail in the wake of the surge.
Enjoy broad ecosystem exploration tracking predators, and an exclusive family “Bush Sundowner” served atop a high kopje overlooking the Serengeti plains. Make use of inviting camp lounges and a swimming pool overlooking the river.
Heading back Home
Your family’s final morning is reserved entirely for stillness and reflection. There is no rush to depart; instead, you are invited to let the profound lessons of the herd settle into your bones.
Experience a quiet, unhurried morning of integration on your verandah, followed by your domestic flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey.
Set on a historic coffee estate in Arusha, offering calm, comfort, and elegant surroundings.
A secluded riverside safari retreat with front-row access to iconic wildlife moments.
A mobile camp that follows the migration, offering an intimate and ever-changing safari experience.
An elevated safari lodge with expansive views, blending comfort, space, and refined luxury.
A remote hilltop retreat offering privacy, raw beauty, and uninterrupted views of the Serengeti.

Family Safari
Anyone from 5 to 70+ years old
6 Days 5 Nights
Arusha & Northern Serengeti
Relaxed to Moderate
Preparing for your journey with East Africa Safari Guides ensures that your transition into the heartof the wild—and onto the shores of the Indian Ocean—is as smooth as the savannah breeze. Please review the following requirements to ensure a seamless entry into Tanzania and Kenya
Passport & Visa Requirement
Passport Validity:
Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended departure date. Ensure you have at least three (3) blank visa pages to accommodate entry and exit stamps for both the mainland and island territories.
Tanzania & Zanzibar (Including Pemba & Mafia):
All U.S. and Canadian passport holders require a tourist visa for entry. While Tanzania and Zanzibar share federal immigration status, the islands maintain their own entry checkpoints.
Host Information (when prompted):
Host: East Africa Safari Guides Ltd.
Address: 11512, Levolosi, Arusha – Tanzania
Contact: +255 753 744 283 / +255 757 149 848, info@easguides.travel
Kenya Entry (Electronic Travel Authority):
Kenya has replaced traditional visas with an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA). All travelers, including infants and children, must obtain an eTA via etakenya.go.ke prior to departure.
Health & Wellness
Vaccinations & Malaria: East Africa is a malaria-endemic region. We recommend consulting a travel medicine specialist at least 8 weeks prior to travel to discuss prophylaxis (such as Malarone).
Yellow Fever Protocols: A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission (including a transit of more than 12 hours). If you are flying directly from Europe or North America into Tanzania, the vaccine is generally not required but is often recommended. Note: Proof of vaccination is frequently checked when flying between Nairobi and Arusha, or when arriving in Zanzibar from certain regions.
Special Considerations for the Islands (Zanzibar, Pemba & Mafia)
The islands offer a different pace and set of customs than the mainland.
Marine & Conservation Fees
Exploring the pristine waters of our marine parks requires specific daily conservation permits. These fees directly support the preservation of our coral reefs and the livelihoods of local fishing communities.
Mafia Island Marine Park:
Visitors staying within the Marine Park boundaries (the Utende area) or visiting the Whale Shark zones must pay a daily conservation fee.
Pemba (Misali Island & Pemba Channel):
As of late 2025, the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has updated its fee structure for protected marine areas.
Mandatory Zanzibar Inbound Travel Insurance
All international visitors entering the Zanzibar Archipelago (including Unguja, Pemba, and Mafia) must hold a mandatory insurance policy issued by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). This is a government requirement regardless of any existing global travel insurance you may hold.
Traveling with Families & Children
For our guests traveling with younger explorers, East Africa is a magnificent classroom.
Professional Advice for the Discerning Traveler
A Note on “Island Time”: While East Africa Safari Guides maintains rigorous standards of punctuality, the islands of Pemba and Mafia operate on a gentler rhythm. We invite you to embrace this “Pole Pole” (slowly, slowly) philosophy the moment you step off the plane.
