What is Wildebeests River Crossing? The Great Wildebeest Migration is the largest animal migration in the world. Around 2 million wildebeest (also known as gnu) and 350,000 zebra move in a constant 800 kilometers/500 miles cycle, mixing with the local, Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, eland and impala in each region they pass through. One of the most sought-after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, the animals follows the age-old route in search of nutritious grass and fresh water.

Often referred to as ‘The Greatest Show on Earth,’ it is no wonder that the thousands of guests who flock to Kenya and Tanzania each year in the hopes of seeing this natural event arrive with big expectations!

With up to 1500 animals per kilometers squared, the great columns of wildebeest can even be seen from space.

    Day 1: ARRIVAL KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JRO) – ARUSHA

    Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by our East Africa Safari Guides driver and transfer you to the Maasai Lodge located in Tengeru on the outskirts of Arusha town. Depends on the arrival time today you will have some time to explore the Arusha city, going around the area where Slave masters dwell during the colonial era, visiting the hanging trees and famous colonial offices. You will also get a chance to visit a local Maasai Market where you can buy some handmade crafts, jewelries, and souvenirs made by women.

    Day 2 - 4: . HOTEL – ARUSHA AIRPORT – NORTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

    Depart after a leisurely breakfast for the airstrip fly out to Northern Serengeti National Park, a journey of approximately three and a half hours (15 kg luggage limit per person; soft bags required for all flights on this itinerary). The plane may stop on the way a few times to drop off/pick up passengers. Upon arrival our representative will be waiting for you ready to start your day game drive. From mid-June to November, the great herds of wildebeest gather on the banks of the Mara River in the northern Serengeti, ready to brave the crocodile-infested waters and hungry predators on the other side. Dramatic, exciting and chaotic game viewing waits as the wildebeest thunder across in the millions and the northern Serengeti is transformed into a pulsing hub of activity. Is during this time when all Safari goers tend to gather here, the park offers the most spectacular wildlife. Many big cats move all the way from different corners of this park to show their hunting and killing techniques.

    Day 5 - 6 : CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

    You will fly from the nearest airstrip to Central Serengeti, where our representative will be waiting for you, you will decide either to continue with a game drive or transferred to the camp to relax and enjoy your bush lunch before the evening twilight arrive and set yourself out to the bush for an evening game drive. In the evening hours is the best time to explore and see many wild cats as they come out for an evening meal. The plains of Central Serengeti host thousands of wildlife and beautiful landscapes.

    Day 7 : CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – MANYARA AIRSTRIP.

    After breakfast, our guide will escort you to the airstrip to catch your flight to Manyara Airstrip upon arrival our another representative will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to hotel, where you can relax, enjoy the authentic view of Lake Manyara National Park and the Great Rift Valley walls, Do you know the story behind this Rift Valley? Well our guide will explain you this amazing story.

    Day 8: MANYARA – NGORONGORO CRATER – MANYARA.

    Today morning, we will visit the World famous Ngorongoro Crater; did you know that Ngorongoro Crater located in Northern Tanzania is now the largest unfilled and intact caldera on Earth? Well, your East Africa Safari Guides driver will explain the reasons why is now considered to be the largest caldera in the World. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600m (2 000ft) deep crater as its focal point. This unbeaten world heritage boosts over 25000 larger animals life, the highest densities of lions and hyena in Africa are resident in this bowl of plenty, including the endangered black rhino and leopard.

    “The Cradle of Humankind” Some of mankind’s earliest ancestors are known to have lived in the Ngorongoro area, where the rich fossil sites of Olduvai Gorge and Laetoli have earned this part of the continent the title of Cradle of Mankind. Today, over 60 000 predominantly Maasai pastoralists inhabit the area, tending their herds of cattle, sheep and goats and living in peaceful coexistence with the wildlife, also our East Africa Safari Guide will be able to tell you how do the Maasai people are able to live together with Lions.

    Later in the evening our guide will drive you back to your beautiful Luxury lodge where you can relax and have a glass of white wine.

    Day 9: MANYARA AIRSTRIP – KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

    Today you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
