• Transfer to the island can be made either by helicopter (included in the package) or by fixed-wing flight from Dar es Salaam or Serengeti National Park to Mafia Island. From there, a short boat or helicopter transfer will take you to the island.
• The entire property, along with all amenities and facilities, will be exclusively available for your use.
• All meals and drinks, including a wide selection of wines, spirits, champagnes, and cocktails from Thanda, are included.
• You will have the option to use the catamaran Umoja according to your desire, provided it is included in your package.

How to get to Thanda Private Island?

Guests usually arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam. Once you land, whether you are flying privately or commercially, the Thanda Island team will greet you either on the tarmac or at international arrivals. They will then escort you to an SUV, which will transport you to the helicopter for a 35-minute flight to the island.

Alternatively, guests have the option to fly from Dar es Salaam or any Safari destination in Tanzania mainland either Serengeti or Ruaha National Park to Mafia Island in a fixed-wing plane. From there, they can transfer to Thanda Island either by boat, which takes approximately 30 minutes, or by helicopter, which takes around 10 minutes.
